Will Aid, the most enduring and successful charity Will-making scheme, is running again during November 2012.
During November, participating solicitors have agreed to write basic Wills without charging their usual fee.
These solicitors are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the Will Aid charities by asking Will-makers for a donation, which reflects the time and expertise they have devoted to writing the Will.
The suggested donation is £90 for a single Will, £135 for mirror Wills or £40 for a codicil or change to a previous Will.
As well as raising substantial amounts of money for charity, Will Aid motivates people to make a Will. This is something that we should all consider doing to ensure that our assets are left to the right people on death.
Last November, Will Aid was successful in raising £2.2m for charity and resulted in over 27,000 people making a Will.
From speaking to solicitors who participate in Will Aid each month, they tend to get booked up very early. You can find details of participating solicitors at www.willaid.org.uk or by calling 0300 0300 013.
Alternatively, get in touch with your Financial Planner at Informed Choice and we can recommend a participating solicitor.
