The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,320.03, up 157.20 points or +3.04% on the day and up 73.04 points (+1.39%) over the week.
The index finished an incredibly volatile week of trading with a positive day to end up over the course of the week. The top daily performer was Inmarsat (ISAT) which finished up nearly 10%.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,266.10 (up 53.93 points or +1.02%).
