When we published the printed version of our booklet A Guide to Your Pension Sharing Order on Divorce, we were looking around for a suitable visual for the front cover.
We settled on a photo of a lady handing back her wedding ring. It turns out that we chose a highly appropriate visual image
Apparently a study of 2,000 couples found that men and women were more likely to wear a wedding ring today than in previous generations.
But, apparently, disgruntled couples are more than willing to take them off during marital strife.
The law firm Slater & Gordon (reported in The Times today) found that that the younger generation place more importance on the wearing of wedding bands than their parents and grandparents.
So our visual of the lady handing back the wedding ring she has just taken off seems to have been an inspired choice.
