The production of our feature-length documentary about the Baby Boomer generation reaching retirement has entered a really interesting stage.
We spent three months planning the movie at the end of last year (pre-production) and then another six months in production, filming various interviews with experts.
Now the movie has entered the post-production stage.
This means the majority of the filming has been completed. This week I started editing each of the 18 interviews and events, going through a rough edit on each to pull out the main content we will consider using in the movie.
I’m burning each of these rough edits onto a DVD and then working with a virtual assistant who will transcribe them, creating detailed notes for each we can use to start piecing the story together.
We can then write the script which will be narrated, shoot a whole load more ‘b roll footage’, edit the interviews with a lot more precision and add titles.
This editing process is expected to take a couple of months and we have a deadline of 6th October which is when the movie will be shown for the first time, at the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) annual conference in Newport.
Support for the documentary has been incredible, with our Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the post-production expenses fully funded a week ago.
There are still seven days left on the Kickstarter campaign, so if you would like to support the project and secure a pre-release digital download or signed DVD of the movie, head over to http://kck.st/1piY7gd before next Thursday.
