The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 6,055.75, up 48.38 points or +0.81% on the day and up 45.83 points (+0.76%) over the week.
The market finished strongly on Friday, boosted by rising commodity prices which helped push mining stocks higher.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,712.70 (up 343.05 points or 6.01%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $126.74/barrel. Gold is $1,469.50/ounce and Silver is $40.22/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 4.4% for the year to February 2011.
