The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 6,809.70, closing down 0.57 (-0.01%) on the day and down 28.9 points or 0.42% over the week.
Despite falling slightly on the day, the index finished the month near all-time highs following a rally lasting three weeks.
As a result, company shares in London posted their best month in the last seven during February, growing by 4.7% over the past 28 days.
The FTSE 100 is currently just 2% off its record peak, a level set in 1999.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 6,360.80, a rise of 448.9 points or 7.06%.

Brent Crude Oil Futures is currently priced at $108.95/barrel. Gold is $1,326.50/ounce and Silver is $21.27/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 1.9% for the year to January 2014.
