My favourite story of the week concerns the lady who has filed for divorce because she was mortified to discover, not long after she married, that her husband didn’t eat his peas with a fork!
Instead he apparently used a piece of bread to scoop them up off the plate.
As grounds for a divorce this seems like a pretty unusual excuse.
Cheaper, surely, just to never to serve him peas – or if they needed to be included in a meal make them mushy peas! Or perhaps just look away when he is eating them?
But apparently this time of the year witnesses an increase in the commencement of divorce proceedings possibly because couples find themselves at home together and discover traits in their partners that they just cannot tolerate anymore.
Part of the financial settlement that the couple may enter into as the divorce proceeds is to share the value of existing pension arrangements.
This can be complex and consuming which is why we have produced a free guide to the subject:
The Informed Choice Pensions & Divorce Guide 2013-14
The guide will provide absolutely no help in managing your spouse’s eating habits but will help you understand what you need to do with your Pension Sharing Order.
