Sundial House on the High Street in Cranleigh has been the home of Informed Choice since September 1996.
We know a lot about the history of the building because some years ago a gentleman who was the grandson of the lady who commissioned the building kindly gave us the original architects drawings (proudly displayed in our reception).
He felt that they belonged here with the building.
He also kindly told us the history of the building and his description is on show in our window display.
Today we have learned that Cranleigh Parish Council and Waverley Borough Council have formally adopted Sundial House as a Building of Local Merit.
Such buildings are considered not only to be attractive or interesting buildings in their own right but help to explain how settlement, industry and community developed to the present day.
They are part of the historic environment and are an important resource for future generations.
The Parish and Borough Councils think it is right that they should be identified and celebrated.
We are fortunate indeed to work here in Sundial House it has a lovely atmosphere and clients who visit us here often comment about this.
