Working with our clients to deliver the very best Financial Planning and independent financial advice must be the best job in the world.
And to think, when I was much younger I wanted to be Zoo Keeper!
The variety is endless; take a look at some of the things I have done so far today.
-Drafted an engagement letter for a new client setting out precisely what we are able to do for him and at what cost.
One of our absolute values as a firm is transparency. In our experience clients want to know precisely what they are going to get and what they are going to pay for.
We don’t charge them a bean until they have agreed precise terms with us and we don’t charge them until that work has been done to their satisfaction;
-I sat down with our trainee Paraplanner Andy Bodman and reviewed the data entry for a client’s Financial Plan.
One of the things we can do for our clients is to produce a lifetime cash flow forecast to evidence whether they will ever run out of money.
We present that both in terms of the numbers and a visual chart in which blue is good and red is not – simple and effective;
-I sent a valuation statement to a client ahead of a forthcoming review meeting.
He is in the process of buying property and we are to discuss the best source from his portfolio for the additional cash that he needs.
I may be an unusual Financial Planner but I get a real buzz out of clients spending their money!;
-Had a meeting with a lady who going through the Divorce process.
She needs to find a home for the Pension Credit that the Court have granted to her from her ex-husband’s pension arrangements under the terms of a Pension Sharing Order.
When it comes down to pensions most normal human beings have a quite reasonable barrier to understanding the subject (and all of our clients are normal human beings!);
-Spoke with a client about whether or not he should take tax free cash from his pension pot ahead of the Budget on 16th March.
There is a real fear that the Chancellor is going to complete the job started by Gordon Brown and further decimate pensions savings in the UK.
I have a big problem though….
We always want to provide the best possible service to our clients so I need some help because we are just so busy.
We are looking for Financial Planner to work from our office in Cranleigh.
Their job will be to support the work that we are doing.
There are no financial targets for this role other than making sure we give a really good service to our clients.
When I am out of office they will be here to field calls, emails and correspondence to speed up advice delivery.
There will be research to do as well.
Communicating complex things in plain English is a key skill for this role.
There will be some letter and report writing to do and the job holder will be an important link between our administration team, our Paraplanning team and the Financial Planners here in Cranleigh (me, Martin and Shelley), and of course our clients.
They will also attend client meetings here at Sundial House.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 4 Diploma qualification and want to continue to improve their knowledge and qualifications
Most of all the job will be fun!
Whilst we take what we do very seriously not a minute goes by without some laughter being heard from the offices.
Today that was when I managed to fall off a chair whilst trying to reach for a file!!
If you know anyone who might be right for this job do ask them to contact me because we have the best job in the world for them.
