Here at Informed Choice, we take your privacy very seriously. Here’s our Data Privacy Notice with all of the juicy details.
Informed Choice Privacy Notice May 2018
The short version is:
-We collect and hold a range of personal data about our existing and prospective clients.
-We only use your personal data if we’ve got a legitimate reason for doing so. If you’re a client, this is likely ‘performance of a contract’. For any marketing purposes, we’ll only use your data if we have your consent.
-Because we’re a regulated firm, if we’ve given you advice in the past, we’re going to hold onto your personal data forever (safely, of course). Whilst we hope to never need it to defend a legal claim or complaint one day, it would be pretty foolhardy of us to delete it and then have no defence!
-The nature of our work means we also hold some ‘special category data’ about our clients. We’re extra careful with this more sensitive personal data.
-You can ask us about the personal data we hold on you and, under some circumstances, ask us to delete it. Our need to keep your personal data to fulfill our contractual obligations or defend potential future claims might supersede that request, but we’ll consider it on a case-by-case basis.
-If you’ve got any questions about any of this stuff, please just ask us.
