Today is International Women’s Day, and we’re pleased to share the news of some Informed Choice nominees for the 2019 Women in Financial Advice Awards.
Our senior paraplanner Amelia Castle and our financial planning director Shelley McCarthy have both reached the ‘long list’ stage for the Professional Adviser 2019 Women in Financial Advice Awards.
It’s the second year for these awards, which are designed to celebrate the achievements of women working within the financial advice community and also the broader financial services sector in the UK.
Professional Adviser received almost 1,100 nominations for the awards this year, across the various categories.
Amelia is a nominee for the Women of the Year – Paraplanning award.
This award category is open to women whose achievements and work in paraplanning in the UK have helped enhance this area of financial advice or raise its profile as a career for women – whether through education, training, leadership, mentoring or acting as a role model.
Shelley is a nominee in the Financial Adviser of the Year – South East category.
This category of the awards is open to women whose achievements and work within financial advice in the UK have helped enhance the sector or raise its profile as a career for women – whether through education, training, leadership, mentoring or acting as a role model.
The nominee must be able to demonstrate their influence in attracting and retaining women into financial advice.
The next stage for Amelia and Shelley in these awards is to complete a questionnaire so they can progress to the next round of judging.
A shortlist will then be created, and the panel of judges will decide on the winners in each category.
The awards take place on 3rd July 2019 at Hilton Bankside in London.
We wish Amelia, Shelley and all of the nominees the very best of luck as the awards progress.
