The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,770.98, up 58.28 points or 1.02%% on the day and up 26.09 points (+0.45%) over the week.
The index bounced back from the decline on Thursday which represented the biggest single day fall in six weeks. Resource stocks made a positive contribution to the index.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 3,983.70 (1,787.28 points or 44.87%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $84.83/barrel. Gold is $1,152.50/ounce and Silver is $18.34/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 3.0% for the year to February 2010.
