The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 6,730.67, closing up 12.76 (+0.19%) on the day.
The index celebrated its 30th anniversary today, replacing the FT 30 as the main indicator for the performance of companies listed on the London Stock Exchange in January 1984.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 6,047.30, a rise of 683.37 points or +11.30%.
