The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 6,082.99, down 4.39 points or -0.07% on the day and up 20.09 points (+0.33%) over the week.
The London market had a flat finish after mining stocks finished lower and offset gains from the retail sector. Mining stocks fell in value following news that the Chinese authorities are raising the capital reserve requirements for their banks in an attempt to cool inflation.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,325.10 (up 757.89 points or 14.23%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $103.06/barrel. Gold is $1,383.50/ounce and Silver is $31.94/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 4.0% for the year to January 2011.
