The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,925.87, down 19.09 points or -0.32% on the day and down 50.9 points (-0.85%) over the week.
The market finished down despite exceeding the psychologically important 6,000 level earlier in the day. The index did well to finish the week at less than 1% down after a week filled with more concerns about European sovereign debt.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,433.70 (up 492.17 points or 9.06%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $113.82/barrel. Gold is $1,505.75/ounce and Silver is $36.20/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 4.0% for the year to March 2011.
