The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,765.80, down 90.54 points or -1.55% on the day and down 89.21 points (-1.52%) over the week.
A poor start on Wall Street pushed the FTSE 100 lower during trading on Friday afternoon, below the 5,800 level. Only seven stocks in the index posted gains at the close of trade.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,132.50 (up 633.3 points or 12.34%).
£1 is currently worth $1.62280 US or €1.13110 Euros.
Brent Crude Oil Futures is currently priced at $118.50/barrel. Gold is $1,529.25/ounce and Silver is $37.38/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 4.5% for the year to April 2011.
