The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,745.32, down 22.24 points or -0.39% on the day and up 76.62 points (+1.35%) over the week.
The combination of buoyant mining stocks and weak financial companies resulted in a small drop at the close of trading on Friday. The index was not helped by the publication of weak jobs data in the US.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,313.00 (432.32 points or 8.14%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $91.58/barrel. Gold is $1,403.50/ounce and Silver is $28.74/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 3.2% for the year to October 2010.
