The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,871.75, down 9.37 points or -0.16% on the day and up 58.8 points (+1.01%) over the week.
The index finished slightly lower at the end of trading on Friday, with weak banking stocks being outweighed by buoyant miners and a strong performance from software house Autonomy.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,217.60 (654.15 points or 12.54%).

Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $91.67/barrel. Gold is $1,368.50/ounce and Silver is $28.78/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 3.3% for the year to November 2010.
