The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,812.95, up 4.99 points or +0.09% on the day and up 67.63 points (+1.18%) over the week.
The index finished in positive territory after a day of international economic news. Mining stocks made a good contribution to the overall index today following news from China of strong import figures, growing to 37.7% from 24.2%.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,244.40 (568.55 points or 10.84%).
£1 is currently worth $1.58010 US or €1.19430 Euros.
Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $90.42/barrel. Gold is $1,375.25/ounce and Silver is $28.79/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 3.2% for the year to October 2010.
