On Sunday morning, we were pleased to once again support the Jigsaw Run 10k, which this year raised around £5,000 for local charity Jigsaw Trust.
Despite high winds on the main runway at Dunsfold Park, we welcomed a record 250 runners this year.
This was the fourth year for the Jigsaw Run, which Informed Choice has been proud to sponsor and support since 2012.
We continue to improve this event each year based on feedback from participants.
This year we featured a custom medal, shaped as a Jigsaw piece, with precise chip timing provided by Sports Systems and professional race photography by Stuart March.
Before setting off, runners took part in a pre-race warm up, led by Rob Dale of Get Fit Boot Camp.
After I delivered a race briefing to the assembled runners, the starting pistol was fired by Jigsaw’s patron, Kim Robson, presenter on 96.4 Eagle Radio.
Runners then had to complete two laps of Dunsfold Park’s perimeter road, passing the resident Boeing 747 and crossing the famous Top Gear track.
The first person past the line was Ben Short with a time of 36mins 15secs and the fastest woman was Debbie Aitken with a time of 44mins 23secs.
In addition to their medals and goody bags, each received a gift pack courtesy of local micro brewers, Firebird Brewing Co.
Money raised from the Jigsaw Run will be used to purchase sports, therapy and IT equipment for pupils at Jigsaw School.
We look forward to continuing to support this annual event and will be working over the next twelve months to make further improvements, hopefully adding some extra places in 2016 for this increasingly popular race.
The next Jigsaw Run will take place on Sunday 27th November 2016. Join our Facebook Event for updates and news of when entries open in the New Year.
