This morning saw five members of the Informed Choice team taking part in the Jigsaw 5k, a race we have been organising to raise funds for our favourite local charity, the Jigsaw School.
It was a bitterly cold December morning, with temperatures hovering just the right side of freezing.
Over 100 runners gathered at Dunsfold Park, home of the BBC Top Gear studio and track, to complete a 5k circuit along the main runway and back around the perimeter road.
The race was started by Kim Robson from 96.4 Eagle Radio, patron of The Jigsaw Trust.
It appears that the cold and dry conditions combined with a relatively flat course and few corners set the scene for some very fast times.
Winner was Jason Webb in an impressive 16:22, with Alexander Radford coming second in 18.44 and our very own Andrew Neligan coming third in 18:54, a new personal best for 5k.
Leading the ladies home was Charlotte Harvey in 21:50, followed by Araba Annobil in 22:21, Victoria Bingham in 22:49 and Amanda Worne in 22:59.

The team at Informed Choice put in a great effort, with Martin Bamford finishing sixth in 20:16, also a new personal best.
After months of training (well, mostly ‘rest days’, some ‘training’), Nick Bamford completed the race in 27:29, coming in 38th place.
Catriona Lumiste and Emma Calvert finished the race together in 30:34.
The race was a big success and has raised over £2,500 for Jigsaw School.
Thank you to everyone who took part, including all of the runners, sponsors, organisers and volunteers.
We look forward to staging the Jigsaw 5k again in 2013.
