We have now published our Investment Outlook report for the final quarter of 2012.
Our quarterly Investment Outlook report sets out our views on the general investment climate and creates a robust framework for our investment advice decisions.
It also enables us to make tactical alterations to our strategic asset allocation models.
The big investment news of the third quarter was the decision by the Fed in the US to launch a further round of quantitative easing, dubbed ‘QE3’.
Pumping an additional $40bn a month into the US economy until further notice should be enough to stabilise their domestic economy and certainly stimulated global equity markets, at least in the short term.
Retail investors lagged behind this return to risk, as statistics from the Investment Management Association (IMA) showed continued commitment to fixed interest securities.
Over half of the £903m of net retail sales in July went into fixed income funds, with Sterling Corporate Bond proving to be the most popular sector.
