Informed Choice chief executive Nick Bamford spoke at the IFALife conference in London yesterday on the subject of the future of the intermediary in the UK.
Nick claimed that the future now looked ripe for a combination of information and guidance leading to an online implementation facility.
This would compliment the advice and planning services offered by financial planners. Of course clients value the planning and advice service coupled with reviews. They place less value on the selection of a financial product.
The speaker from Google presented some compelling statistics to evidence the demand in the UK for financial services products.
Nick made the statement that failure to evolve coupled with denying the power of the Internet represented a greater threat to the UK financial services intermediary than the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) from the FSA.
