It is being reported today that GLG has recruited Jeffrey Atherton as senior portfolio manager for their flagship GLG Japan CoreAlpha fund.
Atherton will work alongside Stephen Harker and Neil Edwards the manage the portfolios for the GLG Japanese funds.
As a fund we are currently recommending to clients within our model portfolios, we keep a close eye on developments in the GLG Japan CoreAlpha fund.
Jeffrey Atherton was previously partner and co-manager of Japanese equity strategies at Stratton Street Capital LLP. He has 20 years of experience managing Japanese equity funds, previously working at the likes of Insight Investment and SGAM.
The size of the Japanese portfolios at GLG have grown substantially over the past couple of years, so we welcome this news about additional resources within the management team for this fund. The fund now stands at £944.9m.
GLG Japan CoreAlpha was launched in November 1999 and has delivered above sector average returns over past one, three and five years.
