Informed Choice chartered financial planner Martin Bamford was quoted in the Independent on Sunday today, in an article about the investment prospects for Germany.
With the sovereign debt woes of Ireland, Greece and other European nations remaining in the headlines, it would be easy to write off Europe from an investment perspective.
Looking specifically at Germany, levels of unemployment have fallen in each of the past five years. Exports from Germany have returned to a record level, placing Germany on a similar level to China in export terms.
Quoted in the Independent on Sunday article, Martin said:
“It certainly pays to be selective when investing in Europe at the moment. Having wide exposure to the entire European market means investing in some very troubled economies as well as those, such as Germany, with better prospects,”
