And so it goes on! As we move into Autumn, this strange new world continues.
What is noticeable on my regular walks is that the leaves have turned colour and many have now fallen.
I am a little taken aback by the number of acorns that have fallen.
On one part of my walk, the crunching sound of acorns underfoot is thunderous indeed. I imagine that this is going to be excellent news for the Jays who I have spotted recently stowing them away.
Autumn seems to have bought wetter weather, and Saturday morning setting up the football gaols and nets found me drenched through to the skin ahead of kick-off.
As the parents and players arrived though the rain stopped, typical!
As we were hosting a team from another local club, I took on the role of the match referee, and that was fine until 15 minutes from the end when the heavens opened up and I got a second drenching of the morning. Still, the players had a great time, so it was a price worth paying.
Work continues apace, and we are in the process of recruiting two further members of staff, one in administration and one in Paraplanning.
The interviews are taking place initially by phone or Zoom meetings, but at some point, we will meet face to face.
Working from home and social; distancing is still the norm.
However this month I have an exciting event coming up.
For my birthday in March, Martin and Becky bought me a ticket to experience the Red Deer rut at Knepp Castle the rewilding project in West Sussex. I can’t wait!
