I try to read one book per week. My book choices tend to be very wide and diverse.
In the last week, I have read one about twelve birds that inhabit the British Isles and how they spend the 12 months of the year (Nightingales in November- Mike Dilger).
Already this week, I have completed a second book (Two Summers: Nixon and Trump by Greyhound Bus – Tim Albert). Choosing the second book was easy; it’s author, Tim Albert is a client of ours.
I still prefer the tangible nature of a printed book rather than using electronic versions; there is something comforting about turning the pages as I progress through the book, perhaps it a sign of ageing, some of the younger readers probably think it’s old-fashioned.
Last week I attended a Zoom Book Launch as Tim described his experience or perhaps I should describe it as an adventure.
Fifty years ago in 1969 aged 22, Tim toured the USA on a Greyhound Bus and last year age 72 he repeated the journey.
The book is a fascinating insight into the way the USA has changed (or not) in the last fifty years, and I recommend it to you all.
Shelley and I have just completed a series of 6 podcast episodes for a new financial services company that has just been launched (Free2), and that was a great deal of fun. At least it was for the two of us; Martin may hold a different view as he had to manage the recording and try to keep us from continually straying off track!
My daily walk continues, and it’s kept me fit to the point where this morning Andy asked if the new shorts she was trying to buy for me on-line ought to be a couple of inches smaller in the waist size! It’s been a very long-time since she has had to ask such a question!
In the garden, we have finally removed the dead tree that stood at the front of our house. It was a time-consuming effort, and the cutting up of all the branches was a real task.
So while my waist size has fallen, I am pleased to report better muscle definition in my upper arms. That tends not to happen when most of your working life involves typing emails and blogs!
