Informed Choice is pleased to make a substantial donation to pay for tree planting in the new Cranleigh Centenary Garden.
The special garden project is now starting to take shape.
Cranleigh’s new Centenary Garden is designed to honour local people who lost their lives over the past one hundred years in conflict and those left behind who ‘kept the home fires burning’.
The project is supported by Fields in Trust, the British Legion, Surrey County Playing Fields Association and the Cranleigh Parish Council.
The Parish Council has dedicated a corner of Snoxhall Fields to be a tranquil natural woodland style Centenary Garden to open November 2018 in time for the hundredth anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in 1918.
It is being created by a group of villagers passionate about the village, gardening, local history and design.
Andy Bamford, Informed Choice director and Cranleigh in Bloom treasurer has been involved in the project. She says: “This is a worthwhile community project, putting a garden at the communal centre of this area.”
“As both a business owner and member of the community I am passionate about Cranleigh and keeping it looking as good as we can.
“The Centenary Garden will hopefully provide an area of reflection to be used by everyone in Cranleigh and the surrounding villages.”
Informed Choice has been proud to be involved in the Centenary Garden project through the purchase of the Silver Birch trees.
Trees have become a recurring theme for the Informed Choice team, having previously handed out Field Maple Saplings at Spring into Cranleigh events and miniature Christmas Trees during the Christmas Lights Switch On.
We also donated a Cherry Tree to the Snoxhall Play Park, which continues to thrive.
We estimate that Informed Choice has given away more than 500 trees to the local community in recent years.
As Independent Financial Planners we feel this is particularly relevant not only to planting trees but also managing your money and achieving your financial goals in life
One of our favourite Financial Planning phrases is, ‘The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now’, an old Chinese proverb.
We look forward to seeing the Cranleigh Centenary Garden taking shape over the coming months and continuing to support the local community through various sponsorships.
