Despite strong winds, the annual Cranleigh Bonfire on Saturday evening was another success for the village.
It’s been 67 years since the first Cranleigh Bonfire was held back in 1946, when it took place on the triangle of land between Ewhurst Road and Barhatch Road.
Cranleigh & District Lions Club was formed in 1974 and took over the management of the annual bonfire celebrations.
According to Eagle Radio, over 12,000 people flocked to Cranleigh to enjoy the festivities on Saturday evening.

The bonfire is a highlight of the annual Cranleigh calendar and an event we always enjoy attending.
Thank you to the Cranleigh & District Lions Club and all those involved for their hard work.
