If you are going through the divorce process and you and your spouse have pension plans which will need to be considered in any financial settlement that you agree, then you will have to provide a good deal of information to your spouse’s Solicitor.
In return your spouse will have to provide a similar level of information to you and your legal advisers.
In our experience usually only basic information (such as the capital value of the pension plan the so called “transfer value” is usually provided) and this can be quite insufficient.
Much more information is generally needed to enable a proper analysis to take place.
To help you do this we have created a series of seven data capture forms for different types of pension plans and PDFs of these are available here.
Feel free to use them and indeed make them available to your legal advisers to ensure that sufficient pensions information is gathered.
