The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,991.75, down 14.7 points or -0.24% on the day and down 9.45 points (-0.16%) over the week.
The index closed below 6,000 points on Friday, with positive US jobs data failing to fully offset profit taking prompted by the continued crisis in Libya.
Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,527.20 (up 464.55 points or 8.4%).
£1 is currently worth $1.62620 US or €1.16260 Euros.
Brent Crude Oil Future is currently priced at $116.06/barrel. Gold is $1,427.00/ounce and Silver is $34.43/ounce.
The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 4.0% for the year to January 2011.
